Christ
The word Christ represents our commitment to strive to conduct our business and personal lives based on Jesus Christ's example and biblical teaching. What we expect of our associates at work is to live by the "Golden Rule" which means to treat others the way you would want to be treated. It means that we treat our co-workers with respect, that we take care of our customers, and we always strive to give our best in all that we do. It means that we will always be honest and fair. It means that we do what is right.

Entrepreneurship
What does Entrepreneurship mean? It means to organize, operate and take risks in a business venture with the goal of gaining a profit. Each property we own and or operate has its own distinct characteristics such as its physical design and condition, location, amenities, customer demographics and competitors. In order for Stellar to succeed, each distinct and separate property (business) must operate competitively. To be competitive and attain success, each property team must know its business, forecast coming market conditions, plan and execute. In essence, the property team must be entrepreneurial.

So what does this mean for us? It means that for us to become the best company in our industry, being a company of common hard working people, we must pull together to leverage our strengths to outperform our competition in order to achieve uncommon results. Nothing brings people together quite like adversity and a common goal.

So what does this mean for Stellar? First, we must maintain a clear understanding that excellence is about being the best. It is being #1. Second, excellence is never achieved by doing what everyone else is doing. Third, excellence is difficult. Fourth, excellence requires everyone - everyday! Fifth, excellence is constantly being challenged by someone or something else. Our long-term goal at Stellar is to be recognized as the best business of our size - to become excellent and be "Best in Class"!

How does this apply to Stellar? It applies in that we believe that all associates deserve to benefit from and reap a reward equivalent to what they contribute to our team. As a company and as individuals we must realize and understand where our circles of influence lie. As a company, we are providers of housing that impacts individuals, families and our community. As co-workers, we have opportunities to influence each other. We choose whether we will make a positive or negative contribution to others. Our core value of "Contribution" is important to us because we feel an obligation to give to others. Whether it is our associates, our residents or our community, we feel strongly that we should have a positive impact on them. We want people to be better because of us.
As a company, our core value of "Contribution" is represented in our purpose statement. Our purpose is "To Provide Quality Housing that strengthens our Community". When we provide quality housing, it enhances our local neighborhood by maintaining and improving property values, contributing to the local tax base, deterring crime and providing necessary housing to an important demographic of our society.
